I recall an era where gaming laptops were a specialist breed. The sales figures were never really good but they did produce more mark up’s on each notebook than others. These were the laptops you dreamed of but were out of your grasp. They were like the supreme example of what was possible with laptop computer technology. The best laptops around. Regardless of the excitement created I do not think they were good sellers because I do not think purchasers would buy laptops as an alternative to desktops as they were overpriced. This was probably the remaining niche left where everybody would buy laptops from littler manufacturers. I reckon littler retailers are extremely worried regarding this. Now laptops for gaming will no longer be thought of as a niche sector. Local retailers can’t actually use a brand name as the bigger manufacturers can.

The established brands new laptops are receiving a lot of accolades as being the best laptops from the IT literature. I still anticipate that smaller system builders will derive meaningful encouragement from this fact. I can see the option of being able to configure the laptop computer to be a key buying factor. People that get high spec notebooks will usually see past the gimmicks. More often than not the specifications hold more significance when compared to the design for these types of purchasers.

From a buyers position this is all a beneficial trend. Finally top of the line equipment for your money will be the outcome for this niche. Though I say that, I am not so certain of my predictions. New notebooks are constantly being launched and that should keep costs constantly high. The well known brands have already introduced their own gaming notebook range, so all we can do now is stand back and observe.
