Dental implants may be the most sophisticated restorative technique known to modern dentistry, and for that reason can be a lengthy process - sometimes requiring several appointments over many months.
This is because the metal used for the artificial roots - titanium - must actually become fused with the bone tissue. Often, bone augmentation, or bone grafts are required.
Before dental implants are to be used, the dental specialist - called a prosthodontist - examines the patient’s jaw thoroughly in order to determine how to proceed, taking careful note of the location of vital nerves.
In most cases, the procedure for dental implants starts with an osteotomy, meaning the dentist actually drills a hole into the patient’s jawbone. This hole is usually drilled in stages, using a series of progressively larger drills. The titanium screws that serve as the new roots are roughened and set in place; a “cover screw” is put over the implant and the gum tissue sutured together in order to protect the area during the process of osseointegration, or fusing of bone with the implant. This healing process can take several months.
Once the prosthodontist has determined that osseointegration has taken place, the implant is uncovered, and an abutment and temporary crown are set into place in order to allow the gum to grow into the proper shape. Once this has happened - again, a process of several weeks or even months - the permanent crown is placed.
While dental implants are successful in 90 - 95% of all cases, they can fail due to a number of reasons - usually related to the implant’s failure to osseointegrate properly. They can also fail due to a patient’s failure to brush and floss properly (although crowns themselves are not susceptible to tooth decay, infection of the surrounding tissues is always a possibility), or use of tobacco products.

It is arguable that the definition of wealth is the free and unrestricted use of all of the things which may be necessary for you to advance in the direction of your dreams and aspirations thus attaining your fullest mental, spiritual, and physical prosperity.
You have a right to wealth because it is simply a desire for you to have a richer fuller and more abundant life.
We live for the advancement of body, mind and soul and there is no reason to limit our capacities. Many people see wealth as greed. Ironically, poverty can and will frustrate your relationships with the spirit, people, and those you love. Accordingly, giving is one of the highest forms of love.
If you are complacent, stay where you are and don’t exercise your talents. However, if you want more out of life, we will give you some keys to prosperity.
The world is plentiful with resources. You do not need: money to start, special talents, or the perfect business location. Many people become rich without any of this.
Become willing to change. There is plenty of opportunity. Creativity, innovation, and abundance will go to the people who embrace life and not reject it. Nature has an inexhaustible source of riches and soul advancement is vital. Moreover, the last 100 years has shown more life improvements that the last 2000 years of civilization.
We will now show you the first secret of life. This key to success can be yours if you simply accept the following statement. Just take it as fact, and the world will begin to move with you.
THOUGHT PRECEEDS FORM
You conceive of your desire, you believe it will happen, and you retrieve and receive your opportunities from the universe. As a rule, man originates thought that becomes plans of the mind. Man can communicate his focused thought and mental images throughout the universe.
Your mind is the center of being. The presence of the universal spirit can be allowed into your mind, and your thoughts mixed with a thankful heart directed toward your inner presence can project into the world. These ideas will send off into the world like a letter of request. If practiced, the desires you have will be met. Do not focus on or speak of failure or poverty. Your truth is health, riches, success, and happiness.
The universe wants you to have all that your need. Your motives should include helping your self and others and not hurt other people. Your motives should not be colored in greed, ego, pride, lust, competition, hate, resentment, arrogance. Your desires must be propelled by love, gratitude, faith, confidence, mental focus, truth, acceptance, creativity, positive expectation, clear planning, & giving more love and value than you take.
TO BEGIN YOUR PROCESS OF PROSPERITY
Brainstorm and clarify in you mind exactly what you want and how you will achieve it. Hold the picture of the moment you have completed the achievement with positive certainty. Claim it as yours, claim the picture of success as “FACT”. Keep your mind conscious of the universal presence by being grateful. If you can not be grateful, begin to think of your ability to walk, talk, see, hear, travel, speak, etc. The simplest of freedoms are easily overlooked. People will soon not recognize your new outlook and serenity. Remember, that you must exercise this mental picturing and thankfulness every day for at least a month. After a month, you will not believe the difference in your attitude.
Do not be scared or ashamed to ask for more than you need. Poverty and self sacrifice are not pleasing to anyone. We believe that there is a universal spirit of which unlimited abundance flows. We make the profound connection to the spirit by developing a strong feeling of thankfulness for the gifts we receive. Can you have happiness with a bitter heart? Can you have real faith when you are ungrateful? If so, good luck. If you want to feel that all is possible, then keep reading.
Remember times when you got what you wanted and became arrogant. After you got what you wanted or got out of a jam, you abandoned your connection to spirit. When good things happen to you is the EXACT time that you should practice having a grateful heart to continue the flow of riches. Gratitude dispels doubt, keeps you connected, and prevents dissatisfaction. Continue to fix your attention on health, love, success, and good fortune. Your faith will be renewed; it may not happen over night, but soon after using this simple 5 minute a day practice, you WILL see and feel results.
If you have trouble with certain negative triggers, then eliminate them or avoid them for a while. You are working on yourself, and it is OK to take care of your well-being first which will please all around you. This is putting your health first i.e. your spiritual health.
Your desires and mental blueprint should be very specific. For example, you may write out on a piece of paper a personal agreement to yourself:
I, John Doe, Jr., will have a million dollar business 4 years from today. I will sell creative WIDGETS. I will give the best service and value to my clients. My products and services have outstanding benefits to my customers. I will do all of these things, work hard, and be persistent. I will not give up. People will be glad to pay me for my services because they benefit the customer. I will gladly accept payment and do what is needed to receive the funds.
July 1st, 2006
John Doe, Jr.
SIGNATURE
Spend each day contemplating the million dollar business. Form a joyful mental image of you being paid in full ONE MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE BUSINESS at that very moment of completing the transaction.
You must engage life to secure each days small successes with faith and action. After mentally picturing your vision and reading your personal agreement, complete the process with the words “THANK YOU FOR THE BLESSING AND THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING ME” This will send it into the universe like a request that must be granted.
You need only use your willingness on yourself and not upon others. You can use willingness to force yourself to think about your dreams. Every thought of doubt or poverty is a waste. Your creative ideas WILL be a success when you have a strong desire that your are willing to go the distance to fulfill.
Do not tell the same old people of your plans. If you tell enough bitter people about your idea, their collective doubt may doom your dreams. Surround yourself with insightful professionals. Do not share about you difficulties or failures (unless in a secure group). Interest yourself in becoming rich in life! Focus on optimistic conversation.
As for your plans, make lists of things to do and begin doing them one by one with faith and action. It may take a year to complete, but we must begin somewhere. Do each days work efficiently without haste. Do it right the first time, and you need not fix it later.
Don’t force anything. The creative energies will unfold the correct result for you. You merely need to organize your affairs so that you may receive the success. Overall, action sprinkled with faith is the recipe for success. In sum, put the faith, vision, and purpose behind your every action to accelerate your reaching abundance.
FIND OUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO AND BE!
Write out a list of 20 careers of interest. Keep adding or subtracting from the list. Over time, you will have a few things left because the supreme power will guide you to your talents. The list over time will become more specific such as: to become the best sports writer. It doesn’t matter how you start, just begin. Remember, something you enjoy and are good at doing combined with desire to become the best in this field will guarantee that you become what you love.
Without boast, you must impress on others that you are advancing all that come in contact with you. Speak of your life and business as getting better each day. Act and feel as you are already rich in life. Incorporate humility mixed with poise, faith, confidence, and self-esteem. Only speak when necessary, but your strong character and faithful confidence will attract the best people into your life.
If you can’t leave your job, then do what you can in the evenings or weekends toward your dream. Use your job skillfully to move in the direction that you want. Your contacts at work may lead to a better job. You must be able to clarify your dream to others. You must be able to ask for and receive what you want out of life. Your plans and requests are traditionally answered by the universal power in the form of another person being available to assist you. Be READY to tell them what you need, and do not be ashamed to ask for a fair deal!
In conclusion, times are only as good as your perception. Just when you think you are failing is the exact time to continue your gratitude, focusing on your goals, and ACTION! During your moments of doubt is when the best is ready to unfold. Even if the result isn’t exactly as you want, something better is very close, and you have only been protected until something better comes along.
Kindest Regards, George

When dealing with the refurbishing of facial skin, peels are a popular option. Here is an overview of enzyme peels for your facial skin care needs.
An Overview of Enzyme Peels for Your Face
The enzyme peel is not a new technique at all. It has been performed for a long time ago but often without a deep knowledge on the matter. This is easily confirmed after an overview of those home remedies and cosmetics intended for skin care, such as papaya or green apple facemasks or lotions.
Papaya enzymes are not only good for nutrition but also to peel off epidermal cells, which aids in regenerating the skin. This property is also observed in aloe Vera, pumpkin, pineapple, and other fruits. Restorative enzyme peel is a type of exfoliating non-surgical procedure that uses natural or chemical products to produce exfoliation.
An Enzyme peel accelerates the natural exfoliate process of the skin to get rid of dead skin cells, promote young cell renewal, and visibly diminish scars, stretch marks, aging spots and lines, sun damage, and skin discoloration. Enzymes penetrate the upper layers of the tissue, cleansing pores and improving skin texture, tone, elasticity and tautness.
Although, some enzyme peels work with the aid of acids or mechanical granules, natural enzymes are the most recommended to prevent dryness or allergic reactions. In fact, some strong chemicals used for deep peeling, such as phenol, may cause cancer of the skin or side effects.
In order to obtain the most benefits from enzyme peels, whatever the product you choose or the natural home remedy, you can get the most from it by applying a thin layer to your clean and dry skin, rather than a thick coat. Enzymes work best by rubbing gently in a mild circular motion.
An Enzyme Peel produces results in the short term after begin the application, but you need to perform a routine exfoliation to see good results. Treatments with enzymes improve your skin look and feel, but do not stop aging. Furthermore, you will have to repeat a peeling treatment after a certain period of time to remove new damaged cells and keep your fresh and youthful appearance.

Over the last 4 years a new type of hair straightening has crept into the USA. Called Japanese hair straightening it also falls under other names including; Thermal Reconditioning, Magic Straight, Bio Ionic Straightening, Yuko System (named after the Japanese stylist who is meant to have popularised the treatment), Liscio, and Rebonding. The Liscio process is the original and the one you are most likely to see in salons.
As the name suggests it originated in Japan and the process will give you permanently straight hair as opposed to the temporary straight hair provided by in-home straighteners like the excellent Sedu flat iron. In reality it lasts about 6 months when your hair will need re-touching because of the hair growth.
This form of treatment is not recommended for:
- more delicate African hair
- hair that has been heavily treated or damaged
- hair that is quickly thinning and falling out
The treatment is very expensive, $300-$800 in top salons and depending on which process you opt for can take between 4-6 hours to complete. This is a far cry from using your own hair straightener at home for a fraction of the cost and only taking a matter of minutes. Given the cost you should expect a free consultation on how well (or if) the treatment will work on your hair.
As the treatment is very expensive you should do your homework. Here are a few tips:
- Visit the websites of salons close to you for more details about which Japanese hair straightening treatment they use.
- Visit the salon and speak with their straightening specialist about the process
- Make sure the specialist has sufficient experience in the process. Don’t forget you are paying lots of money so you don’t want to end up with damaged hair because of an inexperienced stylist.
- Ask for some “before and after” pictures of previous customers results.
- If possible ask to speak with a previous customer to get some detailed insight into how long it took and to find out if there are any things they didn’t like about the process.
If you do decide to go ahead with the treatment then here is a summary of the whole process.
- A protein conditioner is applied to your hair.
- A cream based thio relaxor is then applied. This will soften your hair and disassociate the sulfur bonds inside the hair shaft.
- After a period of time the stylist will do a test to see if the hair has broken down to the right degree.
- Once the proper amount of Sulfur bonds have been disassociated the stylist will rinse your hair.
- Your hair is dried into the style you normally wear it in.
- The stylist will take small sections and apply some degree of tension to get your hair as straight as possible.
- Once the neutralizer has been on the hair for the proper amount of time it will be rinsed from the hair.
- After the hair is rinsed it will be dried again and ironed into the style you wish to wear.
- The neutralizing chemical only begins to re-associate the sulfur bonds. The hair still needs to absorb more oxygen and will do so naturally through the air.
- The hair designer will instruct you not to shampoo, wet or style your hair for 24-72 hours, this is to allow it to completely neutralize into the current shape.
The results from the process are amazing, considering your hair is subjected to nearly 6 hours of chemical and heat treatment. You will probably be advised to use special after care products. You should take the stylists advice but make sure and shop round for the products online, as they can be very expensive in salons.
However, all the time and effort is worth it, as your hair will not need to be treated for at least 6 months. So twice a year should be enough for curl free hair all year.

I will never forget the day a friend mentioned the use of a fast to me as a means of getting rid of my acne.
I owe that guy for giving me my life back-literally.
Now, just as he helped me a few years back, Friends, allow me to introduce you to what has been coined by Philippus Paracelsus as “the greatest remedy-the physician within”. This is a fast and for acne, it works.
What is a Fast?
Quite simply, a fast is simply abstinence from solid food for a considerable length of time in the aim of giving the digestive organs a rest. Not to mistaken for starvation, this practice greatly benefits our overall health and is by far a greater cure of our ills-both physical and mental-than all of the drugs of the medical fraternity combined.
There are many types of fasts and for treating acne (and dare I say any health problem-at least in their early and un-fatal stages), they are all quite effective.
They include:
1. The complete water fast: This, admittedly, should be conducted with extreme caution or in a specialized sanitarium if undertaken more than 3 days.
2. The Juice Fast: This is much easier for the general populace and can be undergone as long as you feel like it.
3. The Fruit Fast: This, well, is really not a fast per se…but when one lives exclusively on SEASONAL ORGANIC fruits for days on end…meaning mono meals (2 at the most ) of only one kind of fruit say Apples in Fall, Melons in summer for a week plus, you will be bound to see the benefits.
How to Fast
Being radical in nature, fasting must be undertaken with care, however from my experience with it, here are a few tips to hopefully get you started.
1. Prepare yourself for a fast by gradually tapering off of acid-forming aka “junk foods and commence to consuming raw and cooked fruits and veggies to begin a milder cleansing process as these items are the best intestinal brooms for the colon.
2. Every now and again, 3 hours after supper and say an hour or so before retiring to sleep, drink an herbal tea laxative such as “Smooth Move Herbal Tea” during this preparatory stage.
3. Drink 1-2 quarts of unflavored lemonade in the mornings to balance the chemical reactions within the body and to restore it to an alkaline state.
4. Be mentally prepared for the task ahead of fasting.
5. Take things a little easier while fasting or on a mono-diet of fruit.
6. Avoid using microwaves at all costs-can’t go into detail as that is another subject, however, TRUST me. You want to exclude the use of this so-called convenience device not only while fasting put permanently.
7. Taper off a water fast by using the second type (juice fasting) for a few days, then gradually going to the third (mono-fruit fasting), then afterwards you could (like I do most of the time) simply stick to tons of fruit as the core of your diet or include properly cooked roots, steamed or raw leafy vegetables.
Whatever you do, just please don’t go back to eating the old junk stuff. To explain why in a nutshell, here are two quotes: “You are what you eat” and “Let your foods be your medicine…”
Other tips to augment these dietetic suggestions are of course proper hygiene which includes making sure we change our pillow-cases daily, use only one towel (or paper towels) for our faces, steering clear of harsh acne medications (I just use plain cool water and facial massaging) and keeping dirty fingers off the face.
I really think options 2 and especially 3 as ways for treating acne (in regards to the types of a fast) are quite easy for any and everyone to do. So why not give it a shot? I can confidently say fasting-just like it did for me-can and will work wonders for your skin and overall health.
Here’s to a clearer skin naturally.

Every patient has their own individual needs for plastic surgery. Reshaping the buttock to the region of one’s body can be performed by a procedure called the buttock lift. Depending on the patient, sometimes liposuction and implants are also used to compliment the procedure and produce a more desirable shape.
Patients who have a large amount of loose skin on their buttock region are perfect candidates for a buttock lift. The operation will remove the extra skin and lift the buttock which results in an optimal position with tighter skin and a better texture. Although incisions are made during the procedure scars can be placed so that they are hidden beneath a swimsuit.
Occasionally buttock lifts are performed on patients who have also undergone tummy tuck or liposuction procedures. This procedure helps remove excess fat from the body but will sometimes leave behind loose skin that has lost its elasticity. On the other hand, some patients desire a fuller buttock shape which requires the use of implants. These implants are made of a material that can’t rupture, deflate or spill. This procedure is referred to as buttock augmentation.
Buttock lifts have gained popularity in the United States as of late. There has been a 152% increase in these procedures between 2002 and 2004. In 2004 there were approximately 4000 buttock lift procedures performed.

To determine why neuropeptide products are different
from other effective antiaging skin care treatments
on the market, we first have to determine
the difference between neuropeptide and amino
polypetide ingredients.
Neuro- and pentapaptides are both
peptides but “neuro” refers to the very specific functions
of this peptide group, while “penta” merely refers to the
size of certain peptide molecules.
“Peptide” seems to be the “IT” word in antiaging skin creams
today. We have copper peptides, amino-polypeptides,
hexapeptides, pentapeptides and now neuropeptides. And then
there are all the variants like acetyl hexapeptide-3 and
palmitoyl pentapeptide (a.k.a palmitoyl oligopeptide).
The list is virtually endless and very confusing to the
non-biochemist. Let me try to help you wade through some of
the jargon.
A peptide is simply a small protein which is made up of amino
acids. Peptides are active at very small doses, are highly
specific and have a very good safety profile when used
physiologically - that is, to assist or change an organism’s
physical processes. If we take apart some of the peptide labels
above, we can begin to discriminate among them.
The use of “amino” in amino-polypeptide is a bit redundant
because all peptides are made of amino acids. The “poly” just
means this is a peptide of several amino acids. A “hexapeptide”
is a chain of exactly six (hexa) amino acids; a pentatpeptide
is a chain of five (penta). One chemist working with a
palmitoylated five-amino-acid-chain peptide named it “palmitoyl
pentapeptide”, while another chemist studying the same molecule
called it “palmitoyl oligopeptide”. This is a legitimate, though
less specific, label since “oligo” means “few”. And so the
confusion grows.
The term “neuropeptide” is a bit more helpful in that it
actually describes the function of the peptide. Neuropeptides
act as neuromodulators, neurotransmitters, neurohormones, and
hormones. Research into neuropeptides has exploded in recent
years to the extent that there is a scientific journal named
Neuropeptides whose aim is the rapid publication of
original research and review articles, dealing with the
structure, distribution, actions and functions of peptides in
the central and peripheral nervous systems.
What is exciting about neuropeptides is their power and reach.
Other neurotransmitters transmit central nervous system
signals in one direction and along a path from A to B.
Neuropeptides transmit omnidirectionally outward and can even
direct transmissions in reverse. As neuromodulators, they can
activate and deactivate other neurotransmitters. The
scientific mind boggles at the potential.
The names of some of the neuropeptides may be familiar and
help you to understand the potential of unlocking the secrets
of these peptide molecules. Neuropeptides are grouped into
families based on similarities in their amino acid sequences.
There are the Tachykinins; the Insulins; the Somatostatins;
the Gastrins such as cholecystokinin used to diagnose
gallbladder and pancreatic problems; and the Opioids such as
the enkephalins - the body’s own opiates or painkillers.
As to how neuropeptides might affect the skin,
an abstract in the July/August 2003 Brazilian Annals of
Dermatology states: “There is increasing evidence that
cutaneous nerve fibers play a modulatory role in a variety
of acute and chronic skin processes.
Local interactions between skin
cells, skin immune components and neuronal tissues occur
specially through neuropeptides … Neuropeptide-related
functions on skin and immune cells, as well …nerve fibers
in cutaneous inflammatory responses, hypersensitivity
reactions and dermatoses, namely psoriasis, atopic
dermatitis, leprosy and alopecia.”
Now that you know that a neuropeptide has a function in the
central nervous system and that a pentapeptide might also be
a neuropeptide (having five amino acids in its chain) but not
all neuropeptides are pentapeptides, how can you decide
whether to pay the extra money for the exciting new
neuropeptide creams? You want some evidence that they are
sufficiently more effective to justify the higher price, right?
In sorting through all the peptides currently touted for
antiaging skin care, I decided they can be placed into one of
three groups depending on the amount and quality on the
published research and development behind their use in skin care.
Some peptides have a lot of published scientific research behind
them. They were developed for medical use and because of their
success, found their way into antiaging cosmeceuticals. Copper
peptide falls into this group since it has been studied and
employed in wound healing since the 1970s. Palmitoyl
pentapeptide also falls into this group. Doctors were already
prescribing Strivectin-SD for stretch mark and scar removal when
clinical studies of its superior wrinkle-reducing properties
were presented at the 20th World Congress of Dermatology in 2002.
Other peptides have been developed within the cosmetic industry
and quickly brought to market. The companies are careful to
make no medical claims in order to avoid the lengthy FDA review
process for a drug. Argiriline, a.k.a. acetyl hexapeptide-3,
falls into this group. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence that,
similar to Botox, it reduces a muscle’s ability to tense and form
deep lines of expression. Customer reviews are quite positive
and more companies are incorporating the ingredient into their
treatment lines.
In the third group are peptides that are very new or are
proprietary and not widely available. Dr. Nicholas Perricone’s
neuropeptide creams fall into this category. His neuropeptide
variants all contain the prefix “CL”. No research labs I could
locate are studying or making the CL variants. Of course, as we
saw above in the case of palmitoyl pentatpeptide, he may have
just given an already known neuropeptide a different name.
The consumer has little to go on except Dr. Perricone’s word.
That is, unless you consider his track record and broad
following. He hasn’t yet failed to deliver. His previous
antiaging developments have met with broad acclaim and his
three books have been on the New York Times Bestseller list.
Dr. Perricone explains his work with neuropeptides in his third
book “The Perricone Promise” thus. “In ‘The Wrinkle
Cure’ and ‘The Perricone Prescription’, I introduced a
major theme of my research: the Inflammation-Disease-Aging
Connection. Because inflammation is a great contributor to
accelerated aging, it has been an important focus of my ongoing
scientific research. And we now know that neuropeptides and
peptides play an important role in mediating inflammation.”
